fxpansion

Possibly the most realistic sounding drum software ever created.

It has all sorts of capabilities: you can choose your kit from dynamic, realistic sounding recorded drum pieces. You then have the option of using a midi controller or plugging directly into your electronic drum kit. However, the best part is the mixing section.Quality EQ, compression, reverb and many more effects can all be applied to the different parts of your kit.

Wow... that's great. However, a lot of people buy these programs because they don't play drums (or keyboards). That's fine, the Fxpansion people thought of that. 1500 drum patterns are available to you. And, of course, you can change the tempo and swing and more!

Okay, but this a review. What don't I like about this program? Well it doesn't have a whole lot of kit pieces. It comes with 5 kicks, 6 snares, 12 toms, 3 hihats and 11 cymbals. Obviously, they need to give the opportunity for you to buy expansion packs and such, but it would still be nice to have more kicks and snares.

That being said, for the price, BFD-Eco out-performs all the competition. It's not super-complex either, so you can get right at it as soon as you get it.

bfd-eco

So! It's not at the same level as (also from Fxpansion) BFD2, but BFD-Eco is a cheaper alternative with many of the same, great features. All sounds in the program were recorded at London's Air Studios with great detail.

My rating for this program is 4.5/5. It is not the perfect drum software, but when you compare it to its competition, it sure seems like it. Attention all you musicians out there, we've found your drums!
